The Eclipse is an independent, historically Black campus newspaper, that is targeted toward the Black community at the University of Maryland, College Park. We are published monthly by Maryland Media, Inc., a nonprofit organization.



Jeffrey Elizabeth Copeland     Editor-in-Chief



Jeffrey is a broadcast journalism major entering her fourth year at the University of Maryland. She has done broadcast and print assignments for The Marietta Daily Journal, Eagle TV and The Black Explosion. In addition to her work with The Eclipse , she works as a technical director for UMTV’s Capitol News Service, and is an R.A. for Prince George’s Hall.  After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in film production.

Marissa Miller     Copy Editor   



Marissa is in her senior year at the University of Maryland. She is pursuing a double degree in psychology and magazine journalism and has had internships at Chesapeake Family and The Baltimore Sun. After graduation, Marissa intends to earn her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. 


Kara Estelle     Copy Editor   



Kara is in her senior year. She is an English major and is minoring in Creative Writing. In addition to working for The Eclipse, Kara is also the editor-in-chief of The Terrapin yearbook.
